A few weeks back travelling through the South of Spain i came across Granada. Not really coming across 'cause i did knew i'd be there .. so a week before i made my stay in Granda as blissfull as possible. Went on the internet and googled : Best place for Pedro to sleep in. The result after a few hours searching was this hotel by the name of Gar'Anat : Hotel de Peregrinos. When walking around the city , feeling the 42 degrees heat .. nothing like returning to the peacefull winter cold hotel. Maybe it ain't cheap but we only get to live once ... so like in Bangkok i realized there wouldn't be a first time in  that city again and spleashed the little money i had in a great experience. From the Hamman to the Allambra, all the way through the Ice creams and the Tapas ending in the "Tinto de Verano" .. Viva Granada!

After a few weekends trying to find the best options (money, all about the money) i came up with the following nests to sleep in :

The first one is the hostel Hangout @ Mt. Emily … all groovy and stuff where you wake up to chinese congas, and breakfast is half Mojito and 2 alien donuts. I’ll have 2 nights on this one please!

The next hotel is the place where the happy couple will get married. Better sleep in the place just in case (i thought). The swimming pool is open 24/7 and they run a SPA with a few weird massages that bear the name Pedro all over them! Name of the hotel is Meritus Marina Mandarin Hotel.

Last time i went there (Singapore, August 2007) i stayed in a hotel which is half the way between these two in here. Small, cosy, design ... a place where you feel confortable from day 1. Although a few guides refered to the Hotel Breakfast as the “Very Best in Town” i never tasted it. I have Karen and Tony to blame for this .. as they dragged me the night away into amazing places to eat. I tasted all there is to taste (food wise) in Singapore. No secrets to me. None. The Hotel, nontheless was a great experience and in the first night they left me a basket of fruit in the room with a small card that read : “Wellcome back Mr. Pedro!”

I don’t really know if they were insinuating i couldn’t find my way back to the place or that they just confused me for another Pedro born in Portugal, Castelo Branco at 07:15 in the morning on the old hospital near the castle a few decades ago. Who knows? (this question is not retorical, and if you do know, please email me back with some sort of self explanatory text. Thank you) The Hotel 1929 :

Mama Shelter - Hotel in Paris

"In the historic Saint Blaise quartier, located in the heart of authentic Paris, with its flower-lined café terraces, its gardens and its air of rebellion, MAMA SHELTER welcomes you.

Between the artists' studios, Père La Chaise, the Campagne à Paris and the winding cobblestone streets, you will feel the lingering spirit of Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison and other great artists.

Created by the Trigano family (founders of Club Med) and French philosopher, Cyril Aouizerate, MAMA SHELTER was designed by Philippe Starck to offer an eclectic and electric ambiance thanks to its friendly, warm and casual common areas.

A restaurant with simple and delicious cuisine to enjoy amongst friends, a “Chic-Chic" bar and lounge, a French brasserie and a cozy, romantic terrace where you will surely cross paths with American poets, Japanese painters or Latin American authors.

Sensual and elegant rooms equipped with iMacs and 5 Star bedding offer you a serene retreat after a long day in the city and an evening across the street at the mythic Parisian temple of international live music, La Fleche d'Or. This is MAMA SHELTER."

Hello all this one of the few hotels i'll be posting about on this blog. The hotels will be good looking with some special features .. and above all .. with a good price! The first one is in Paris . Price is round the 80€ for a double room. As you may well know this is not so expensive for Paris in such a nice place. If you have hotels like this to share, good looking, good price or good location please tell me about it .. i'm interested!

Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion. Muito recomendado. Para mais tarde recordar.

After the salsa clubbing night i woke up to this view exactly. I allways try really hard to try and capture the real image i have when i open my eyes in the places. It's not easy but i try. A great meal it was .. and the first fresh eye glance on the river Chao Praya.

ok. With the song from europe-famous group of the 80's "Final Countdown", I've started the hands-On planing of next summer backpacking trip. Some of you may know already that I've proposed myself to cross all of the South of Thailand, the whole of Malaysia and Singapore. Somewhere along the way, I'll meet with my Internet friend "Icetuna" for a 2/3 day diving trip. I'm looking forward to that ... specially 'cause I'm receiving the PADI certification title in 3 weeks, after 5 pool and 2open water dives.

This step by step planning involves you a lot more on the trip you're about to do. I end up learning much more having to scroll through thousands of web sites, read books and ask info directly on travel agencies. I have gathered already the 3 main first steps of the trip:

1. Arrive in Bangkok. Because of travel time, it's good to stay in upscale place.. not with the crowd. The choice end up being : Ibrik Resort by the River.

2. Go out of Bangkok 2 days later on the train of the night (22:30) to arrive in Surat Thani early in the morning. Go to Ko Samui island

3. One day in the island will be for Island Kayaking .. on Ang Thong Marine National Park. Staying on The Red House 2 days.
Kayaking / Red House

Enjoy, and if you have any ideas please write me !
